Luis Enrique has opened up to PSG TV, expressing his primary focus on building a cohesive team.
The new era of PSG is embodied by Luis Enrique, and the Spanish coach is determined to establish his style. However, the first step involves working on the relationships among players.
“My priority is first to create connections on the field among the players and find connections between them. At the beginning, it’s about informing my players about the basics, the important things, the non-negotiable things, and how we need to behave on the field,” he said.
“Then, progress comes from training sessions, matches, observing these connections between players, and adapting to what’s happening on the field, both in attack and defense, based on the opponent, but above all, based on our game idea. There’s no training session that doesn’t aim to improve these game situations and train them.”
“Having said that, we’re only at the very beginning. I would say there’s a lot to do, a lot to improve, a lot to analyze, but these are very exciting first steps.”
