The Dortmund central defender, Mat Hummels, discussed PSG’s defeat. He expressed his thoughts on DAZN.

The German international notably mentioned a staggering statistic from the Dortmund-PSG semi-final in the Champions League: PSG covered 10 kilometers less than his team. Mat Hummels pointed out that PSG’s attackers run less.

“It was a collective performance; everyone tried to help their teammate produce their best game. We played a very good match. It’s clear, we were lucky on two occasions, but we can be very proud of our performance. We were very mature, very experienced,” he said.

PSG Runs Less but…

“10 kilometers more for our team? If we want to beat such a team, we also have to run more. We must also acknowledge that Paris has two or three players who don’t cover every defensive meter, but bring incredible offensive qualities. They run less, but unfortunately, it doesn’t make them worse,” he added.

“We want to go there (to Wembley), it’s a clear objective. It’s going to be tough on Tuesday; it would have been good if we could have scored a second goal on one of our numerous counterattacks. If we want to reach the Champions League final, we have to succeed in Paris,” he concluded, as reported by L’Equipe.
