Thierry Henry has been officially appointed as the coach of the U-21 national team until 2025.

Thierry Henry is trading the microphone for the sidelines. The former French player turned pundit is the new coach of the U-21 national team.

The appointment was made unanimously during the FFF’s Comex meeting on Monday, according to RMC Sport. Thierry Henry has been chosen as the new coach for the U-21 national team, two and a half years after his last experience as a head coach with Montreal Impact. It was a rather mixed experience following his also mixed tenure at AS Monaco.

Thierry Henry will lead the U-21 national team for the Olympics. And there could very well be a certain Kylian Mbappé… at least that was the player’s desire.

Thierry Henry will also need to qualify the U-21 team for Euro 2025, with their first qualifying match on September 11 in Slovenia. The French Olympic team for the 2024 Paris Olympics is already automatically qualified.
