As expected, Olympique Lyonnais officially announced the departure of coach Laurent Blanc on Monday.

This decision was made by mutual agreement between the club and Laurent Blanc, who was initially under contract until June 2024. Franck Passi and Philippe Lambert, the assistant coaches, are also leaving the club.

This decision comes after a difficult start to the season for OL, currently in 18th place in the Ligue 1 standings with only 1 point from 4 matches. The club thanked Laurent Blanc and his staff for their dedication and professionalism during their time in charge of the professional team.

“Olympique Lyonnais and Laurent Blanc have decided, by mutual agreement, to terminate their collaboration as of today. This decision also concerns Franck Passi and Philippe Lambert, assistant coaches. Olympique Lyonnais would like to thank Laurent Blanc and his staff for their dedication and professionalism during these 11 months at the helm of the professional team,” read a statement from the club.
