According to reports from Foot Mercato, Kylian Mbappé had allegedly promised PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi to extend his contract before the start of the season in order to return to the team.

News emerged in February that Mbappé had informed PSG of his decision to leave the club when his contract expires this summer, but this has not been officially confirmed yet.

However, to exit the situation he found himself in, Mbappé reportedly made a promise to extend his contract.

Please don’t give me more money

In a meeting with Nasser Al-Khelaïfi on August 12th, the day before the match against FC Lorient, Mbappé supposedly “made the promise to his president to extend his contract… He reiterated his desire to extend on several occasions.”

PSG was reportedly caught off guard afterward when news emerged of Mbappé’s alleged agreement to join Real Madrid next summer. This turnaround understandably angered the PSG boss, who had been trying to convince Mbappé to stay and extend his contract. Mbappé even allegedly asked PSG “not to make a counteroffer.”
