With Kylian Mbappé’s departure looming, PSG is already planning for the future. Mbappé has reportedly announced his exit, prompting Paris to initiate their contingency plan without him.

Xavi Simons is emerging as a key piece in this strategy.

“The PSG is now working on Xavi Simons’ return for the next season. It was one of the options considered by the club in case of Mbappé’s departure,” stated journalist Abdellah Boulma.

However, it won’t be a straightforward process. Simons is currently on an 18-month loan at Leipzig, which means his loan would end no earlier than the end of 2024. Initially, PSG intended to sell him for around €50 million. But Mbappé’s departure obviously changes the scenario significantly.
