Is PSG’s pursuit of other midfield options inevitable? According to Le Parisien, Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich) and Bruno Guimarães (Newcastle) may ultimately decide to stay at their respective clubs.

Paris Saint-Germain is in search of a top-level midfielder for the upcoming season. With Mbappé’s departure looming, Paris seeks to strengthen all areas of the field. In midfield, the club’s hierarchy has identified Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich) and Bruno Guimarães (Newcastle) as priority targets.

However, during a live question-and-answer session with Le Parisien readers, Laurent Perrin cast doubt on these two pursuits.

“Joshua Kimmich is one of our top targets. As we’ve reported, he’s very interested in the project. But he’s also very committed to Bayern Munich. And now that he knows Thomas Tuchel will be leaving at the end of the season, that might persuade him to stay.”

“Bruno Guimarães has a very interesting profile. He’s still young, familiar with France and Ligue 1, but he’s under contract with Newcastle until 2028, and I can’t see the Saudis doing any favors for Qatar,” explained the Le Parisien journalist.
