Illia Zabarnyi is edging closer to a move to Paris Saint-Germain, but fans will need to be patient. While the Ukrainian centre-back has already agreed personal terms with PSG, the transfer won’t be finalized before the summer window officially opens on June 16.
Bournemouth holding firm
PSG has already tabled an offer exceeding €50 million, but Bournemouth is demanding €70 million and wants to secure a replacement before releasing their defensive leader. As a result, Zabarnyi won’t feature in PSG’s squad for the Club World Cup, with the deal not wrapped up in time.
PSG remains optimistic
Despite the delay, PSG is not panicking. According to journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin, the deal is progressing well and could be the club’s first major signing after the tournament. The ball is rolling — now it’s a matter of timing and details.
