Paris Saint-Germain is closing in on one of its top defensive targets: 22-year-old Ukrainian centre-back Ilya Zabarnyi, currently under contract with Bournemouth until 2028.
Official announcement expected next week? This time, it looks like a done deal. Zabarnyi, who has been on PSG’s radar for months to bolster the right side of their central defence, is now closer than ever to a move to the French capital. According to PSG Inside Actus, a defensive signing is expected to be announced in the coming days — and all signs point to Zabarnyi.
BBC Sport even reports that a deal worth around €60 million has been agreed between PSG and Bournemouth, with only a few details left to finalise.
Final touches before the signature?
PSG is looking to wrap up the deal quickly ahead of the squad’s return to training on August 4. The move would end a months-long transfer saga, as Zabarnyi was already a target last winter — especially with the Club World Cup in mind.
For now, no official confirmation has come from PSG, Bournemouth, or the player. But all signs suggest the deal is nearly done — a major addition for Luis Enrique’s defence.
