Kang-in Lee’s Emotional Farewell to PSG

Kang-in Lee has officially closed the chapter on his Paris Saint-Germain career. Following his permanent transfer to Atlético Madrid, the South Korean international published a lengthy message thanking the club, his former teammates and the Parisian supporters.

PSG confirmed his departure after three seasons in the French capital. The deal is expected to earn the club around €35 million, with a further €5 million in potential bonuses, taking the total package to as much as €40 million.

Reflecting on his arrival in Paris, Lee wrote that he still vividly remembered joining the club with big dreams. He said the first word that came to mind as his adventure ended was “thank you”, before expressing his gratitude to the club, coaches, staff, teammates and everyone working behind the scenes for believing in him and sharing so many memorable moments.

The 25-year-old also paid special tribute to the PSG supporters, saying their chants at the Parc des Princes had filled his heart and continued to resonate with him. He highlighted the unforgettable trophies won during his time in Paris, including two consecutive Champions League titles, describing those successes as one of the greatest privileges of his career.

Signed from Mallorca in the summer of 2023, the versatile attacking midfielder stood out for his technical ability and his capacity to play centrally or out wide. Lee concluded by saying he was leaving part of himself in Paris and would always keep the club, the city and its supporters in his heart, adding that his experience had helped him grow far beyond football.
