Long criticized outside the Paris region, Paris Saint-Germain appears to have definitively changed its image among the general public. According to a CSA survey relayed by Le Parisien, the French capital’s club now enjoys record-breaking popularity across the country.
PSG is no longer just Paris’ club. It has become a global brand, admired from Tokyo to New York, as well as London and Seoul. And in France? The trend is improving there too, despite the club starting from a very challenging position.
PSG’s Growing Popularity Across France
According to the survey, 67% of French people say they have a positive image of PSG. Even more striking, 74% believe the Parisian club contributes to France’s international reputation through its performances and worldwide visibility.
The club’s recent Champions League triumph has further strengthened that perception. The study reveals that 66% of French people view PSG’s European success as a source of national pride, not just something for Parisians to celebrate.
PSG is particularly popular among younger generations. No fewer than 83% of 15-to-24-year-olds say they are proud to see a French team reach such heights on the European stage. These figures highlight the remarkable transformation of the image of Nasser Al-Khelaïfi’s club, which now stands as one of the leading ambassadors of French football around the world following its second consecutive Champions League title.
