The sports newspaper L’Equipe discusses the possibility of Warren Zaïre Emery being selected for the French National Team in November. If it happens, it will be historic.
Warren Zaïre Emery is rapidly climbing the ranks. If WZE plays in the match against Gibraltar on November 18th, he could become the youngest French international since 1945, at just 17 years, eight months, and 10 days.
He would surpass Eduardo Camavinga, who was 17 years, 9 months, and 29 days old when he made his first international appearance on September 8, 2020. However, he wouldn’t claim the title of the youngest French international of all time.
The website “Chroniques Bleues,” a reliable source cited by L’Equipe, clarified the situation by ruling out a frequently mentioned name, Julien Verbrugghe, and pointing to Félix Vial. Félix Vial was selected to play against Luxembourg on October 29, 1911, at the age of 17 years, 2 months, and 15 days, making him the youngest French international in history.
